Franco is Mor et had never received art istic training in the traditional sense , and this independent learning ens ured his freedom of creation .
He was influ enced by Mond rian ' s work and the " con cr ete art " of the early 1950 s , which led him to abandon all expres sive art forms in favor of creating geomet ric al structures .
He then created paint ings using calcula tions and criteria based on the Free Agreement , and in 1960 he became a found ing member of the Visual Arts Research Group , where he participat ed in urban and archite ct ural design .
He stri pped the a est het ic potential of the ne on tube and put into practice the philos ophy of " giving social signific ance to geomet ric al structures . "
He leb es Rafael S oto was inspir ed by the work of Mond rian and Mat chi and , along with other South American art ists , vent ured into the field of abstra ct art .
