To yo hara N uki - K ei River flo wed east ward and join ed the He if uku - K ei River at a place called O gawa Est u ary . The meeting point was a special place where I used to play when I was a child . The sound of the water flow ing into each other still ling ers in my e ars .
His father worked at the Da ek ou branch of the district supply and sales cooper ative . I didn ' t quite understand what the job was like at the time , but it was impres sive to see my father working so busy every day . The branch building was old , but it was always crow ded with local people .
Life in my father ' s dorm .
In high school , he lived with his father in his dorm room . The dormit ory was simple and nar row , but life there was pre cious time , in ret ros pect . In the morning , I went to the branch with my father , and on the way home , I sometimes wal ked over look ing the lands cape of the Grand River Est u ary .
